With thirty-plus years’ experience in the industry she is well-versed in the intricacies of life, disability, and long-term care insurance. At Long Road Risk Management, Mary Jo commands the myriad day-to-day details of managing client relationships and insurance policies. If you speak with Mary Jo regarding your insurance needs, you will immediately notice her expertise – and you will also notice her compassion. Her true strength is serving as a key connector and communicator between financial professionals and the people they serve. She is a walking example of keeping clients’ best interests in mind. Prior to joining Long Road Risk Management, Mary Jo worked with local insurance agencies, banks, and Top-10 and Top-20 accounting firms. She holds the Certification in Long Term Care designation, an Associate’s Degree in Insurance, and life and accident/health licenses from numerous states. Mary Jo resides in Oregon, Wisconsin, where she has volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Make-A-Wish. She is an avid hiker and traveler, hunting for antiques wherever those activities bring her.

Tom has spent over 20 years developing estate and business protection strategies using insurance-based solutions for individuals and businesses. Tom is passionate about educating and informing his clients while developing their customized plan; the result is a rewarding career that provides Tom the opportunity to see his clients reach their goals. Tom is a qualifying member of Million Dollar Round Table since 2000 and has been a consistent member of the Top of the Table. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), as well as the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU). Tom lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and two sons. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with his family.

Katie Nentwick is the Managing Director of Long Road Risk Management Services where she is responsible for guiding advisors and clients through the life insurance process from start to finish, leveraging Long Road’s unique resources along the way to help achieve a better client experience. Katie began her career at Valmark in 2009 where she served in various roles throughout the company and helped craft the life insurance process used by Long Road today. For the past four years, Katie has worked as a financial advisor to individuals and business owners, primarily in the medical field. Her legal and financial background make her a valuable resource to the Long Road team and provides unique insight to clients that are planning for or going through major life transitions where law and finance intersect. Katie earned her law degree from the University of Akron School of Law and her BBA in Finance from the University of Akron, where she was also a Division I track athlete and team captain. She is a licensed Ohio attorney and holds her Series 7 and 66 securities registrations as well as life & health insurance licenses.

As Managing Director, Tom is responsible for coordinating all insurance activity and works closely with advisors and clients to deliver creative insurance solutions. Tom began his career at Valmark in 2011 providing life insurance analysis and consulting to insurance professionals across the country. At Long Road, he leverages his industry experience, strategic relationships, and key partnerships to bring a best-in-class insurance buying experience. Tom has a unique ability to help advisors and their clients make informed decisions by simplifying the complex aspects insurance planning and products. Tom and his wife Jamie reside in Stow, Ohio, with their 4 children. Outside of the office, Tom is active in his church community and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
